This Call for Submissions comes from one of our graduate students who is currently working at the Zlatý Voči Student Film Festival, at Charles University in Prague. This festival is aimed at students of film studies and related fields, and it will take place May 12-13 in Prague.
The deadline for submissions is April 5, so there’s still plenty of time for everyone to apply. All questions and submissions should be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org
We would like to invite all students of film and media studies to participate in our 20th audiovisual festival entitled Zlatý Voči (a.k.a. Golden Eyes, www.zlatyvoci.cz) that takes place in Prague from May 12th to May 13th 2015.
This festival is focused on the practical work of film theory students and students of related fields. We believe that films made by such students are often unique in the way they use conceptual and film history knowledge to produce work that explores a range of theoretical ideas and even reflects upon the very nature of the medium as a means of artistic expression. The aim of the project is to provide an opportunity to screen these films to a larger audience, both to academic audiences familiar with film theory discourse and to non-academic cinephiles.
We believe the Zlatý Voči festival is well suited to the work of students of your department, and we would really like to encourage anybody interested in participating to become involved with the project and submit a film for the festival. We are looking forward to sharing our work and experience among the film studies field!
We’re looking for films of all kinds – there aren’t any restrictions regarding film themes or genres, neither any special requirement for technical quality of the work. However, we would ask that submissions do not exceed 20 minutes in length.
The submission deadline is April 5th 2015.
I’m attaching an official Call for Submission as well as a poster and an application form to this email.
Also I would like to kindly ask if you can spread our posters and call for submission by facebook page or emails to your students and also put it on the notice board of your department.
I would be pleased to provide you with any further information you may need regarding the festival.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
