CFP: Cinema Studies Graduate Student Colloquium Series

Is there a term paper you’re currently working on that you’d like to further develop or re-work as a conference presentation? Would you like to sharpen your presentation skills? Is there a project, a thesis chapter, or a paper that you’d like to start working on but can’t figure out its parameters? Do you have an idea that is unrelated to your research project but that you’d still like to develop somehow? Is there a particularly challenging philosophical, theoretical, methodological, or ethical problem that you’ve come across that you can or cannot resolve? Would you like to simply brainstorm some of your ideas with your peers?

For the first in a series of events, the Cinema Studies Graduate Student Colloquium Series is inviting all MA and PhD students to a session designed to share their ideas in a comfortable collegial setting. The Colloquium Series is designed as a space where we can share our research with one another, perfect our conference skills both as presenters and as audience members, and make use of some of our best and most immediate resources at hand—our fellow graduate students. We encourage both Master’s and PhD students to participate by either sharing their work or attending the presentations. This first session will take place on January 31, 2014.

If you are interested in presenting, please contact anyone from the organizing committee by December 10, 2013
