Examen de Français–November 21st

Parler-vous français?

As a prerequisite, all* MA and PhD students must pass a French-language comprehension test in order to graduate. This semester, the test will take place on Friday, November 21st starting at 2pm in room FB-323.

For MA students, this 2-hour exam tests reading comprehension of a selected French-language text of film criticism or journalism. For PhD students, the exam requires comprehension and ability to provide an approximate translation of short excerpts of a more challenging scholarly text, and you may take up to three hours. In both cases, written answers are in English and dictionaries are allowed.

Please email olivia.ward[at]concordia.ca to sign up.

Be sure to contact Professor Thomas Waugh if you have any further questions.

Bonne Chance!

*Please note that if you completed a secondary or post-secondary diploma in a French-language institution, you are exempt from this requirement. Please e-mail an exemption request to Olivia Ward (MA students) or Jaynus O’Donnell (PhD students) if you meet the requirements.
